1. Cornelis VAN CLEEF. pages 110-111 of The New York Genealogical and Biographical Record, Vol 128 #2, April 1997, gives Cornelis as the patronymic of Jan Van Cleef.

The article entitled "Finding the Patronymic of Jan Van Cleef in Little-Used New Amsterdam Records" by Henry B. Hoff, F.A.S.G., F.G.B.S. describes how the writer was able to find the one document, a contract of sale {in Dutch} translated into English on microfilm that gives the name Jan Cornelissen van Kleef. The entire text of the document is included in this article.
